Keeping Iowa Open

In 2000, the Iowa Freedom of Information Council published "Iowa Acccess Guide," a reporter's introduction to Iowa's Freedom of Information laws. The guide is designed as a training tool for busy editors and includes several helpful sections. It begins with an openness history, and question and answer section for Iowa's Open Meetings and Open Records law. It wraps up with judicial and expanded media coverage maps, plus a list of resources.

Are you looking for a smaller version of the access guide you can carry with you? Click here to download a reporter-notebook sized brochure containing important open meetings and open records tips.
