| Legislative Positions
One of the benefits INA brings to its newspaper
members is the power of being able to affect positive outcomes
for newspapers by having a voice in the Iowa legislature. The
313 newspapers of Iowa have a much bigger voice in Iowa’s
government than any newspaper, whatever its size, has on its
own.
INA relies on its member newspapers to keep in touch with their
local senators and representatives, and to be ready and willing
to contact them in the event a need arises. With all newspapers
working together, INA helps ensure its members’ interests
are protected.
To read the Iowa Newspaper Association’s position
on developing legislative issues or current trends, read the position
papers listed below. If you agree with INA’s stance on the
issue, please contact your legislators and let them know how you
feel.
